

Dr. A. Shahin Sultana, Professor of English, was awarded the “Extra Mile Award” for Continuous Excellence by Cambridge Assessment English on 22.11.2019 at the Annual Coordinators’ Conference at Hotel Rain Tree, Chennai. The award was given in recognition of the special efforts taken by her as the Coordinator of Business English Certificate Courses in conducting the courses and the exams well and producing good results consistently. The award was presented by T.K. Arunacahalam, Regional Director, South Asia Region, Cambridge Assessment English.
B. S. Abdur Rahman Crescent Institute of Science and Technology, which has been functioning as the Preparation and Exam Center for Business English Certificate Courses and related exams, has been given the award “Preparation Centre Award 2019-2020” by Cambridge Assessment English at the Annual Coordinators’ Conference held at Hotel Rain Tree, Chennai. The award was given in recognition of this center for training the students to acquire the qualification Business English Certificate Courses and the faculty members for administering the BEC exams as per the standards set by Cambridge Assessment English successfully and attaining good results consistently.
Professors A. Catherine Anna Pushpam and P Rathna of B S Abdur Rahman University have won awards under the Cambridge English Language Assessment, a program developed by the University of Cambridge, England. They won awards for their classroom activity initiatives. The program held competitions for English teachers in India on September 5. While Pushpam won the first prize, Hindustan University’s Balakrishnan won the third prize in the higher education category. Rathna, an Associate Professor at Abdur Rahman University, was awarded for being the most collaborative participant.
