CGOM and NanoFold Inc. Sign Landmark MoU for Pioneering Research in Sustainable Materials and Energy Storage

The Crescent Global Outreach Mission – Research & Development (CGOM R&D) of B.S. Abdur Rahman Crescent Institute of Science and Technology (BSACIST), Chennai, has entered into a groundbreaking collaboration with NanoFold Inc., a leading innovator in material science, led by Dr. Ilan Kuppusamy, Founder and Director of NanoFold. The partnership was formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), signed in the presence of Prof. T. Murugesan, Vice Chancellor, and Prof. N. Thajuddin, Pro-Vice Chancellor, along with other notable dignitaries.

Under this agreement, NanoFold has approved a significant consultancy project for the CGOM R&D team, valued at ₹95,03,600 (₹95 Lakh) over a three-year period, with an initial ₹3,00,000 disbursed immediately.

The collaborative research will focus on two critical global needs: Developing sustainable, high-performance building materials, and Enhancing energy storage solutions.

The project will leverage interdisciplinary expertise from Crescent’s renowned faculty, with contributions from experts in various fields: Prof. N. Thajuddin and Dr. D. Mubarak Ali (Biotechnology), Dr. Sivagaami Sundari (Chemistry), Dr. A.K. Kaliluthin (Infrastructure).

This MoU facilitates collaborative work across departments, integrating insights from physics, chemistry, and engineering to advance both material science and energy storage technologies. By uniting academic research with industry-driven objectives, this initiative will foster a robust knowledge exchange between NanoFold and Crescent Institute, promoting an enriched research environment that benefits faculty and students alike.
